Why do Viking refrigerated drawers run warm?
Most often because the unit cannot breathe through its front grille, or a drawer has stopped sealing. Viking's troubleshooting table lists both ahead of any failed part. What is the display telling you?
The number on a VDUI control is the real temperature inside the drawers, not the one you chose; when they differ, Viking says it is still working toward your setting. HH means the compartment has sat warmer than the setting for an extended time, and LL colder.
Why can a drawer leak cold when a door would not?
Each drawer front carries its own gasket (the rubber seal around the edge), and it only seals when the drawer runs fully home. A heavy bottle at the back, a bag caught underneath or a slide that no longer runs smoothly can leave a gap you cannot see from above. Viking’s remedy for a seal that is not sealing is to check the alignment first, then replace the gasket.
When is it a part rather than a setting?
With the grille clean, every drawer flush, the setting right and a full day gone, the cause is inside the cabinet: a fan, the temperature sensor, the control or the sealed system (the closed loop of refrigerant pipes). A fan blade catching on a tube, which Viking lists as a source of noise, is a technician’s job too. The tag’s model and serial number settle which part fits.
